RE: 44-77 44-90?
Yes I do but It's very thin about 1/8" in the .44-77 It takes up very little powder room but I see a difference with less vertical using it over using no lube so I will keep using it. And I use a thick about a 1/4" maybe 3/16" for the .44-90 bn or the .44-100 straight. They hold enough powder to get the job done.

RE: 44-77 44-90?
Don, sounds good, i'll see how this 44 runs over the weekend.
Kurt, I had machine shop bud cut 3/16ths off the bottom of my size die, brass fits perfect now, I did load one round and put it through the chrono, your load of 75grs OE2F ran the 477gr paper patch bullet 1338 fps.
If accuracy proves to be there, I'm done, that will be a hell of a hunting load, I'm a one load, one bullet per rifle kind of guy, don't have time, patience, OR the brain power for 5 different sight holds for 10 different bullets per rifle, simple and effective is just fine with me.

Good move. That Win brass is a little thick at the base. Your on the way. now shoot those cases to get them fitted to your chamber and your on the way. If that 75 gr load don't shoot well enough do a 3 shot ladder load. Good trigger time too
I'm on the way to Montana, just short of South Dakota and if I can find enough trees to plug this thing in to make it work I will watch for your progress.

RE: 44-77 44-90?
Hello Kurt, WOW! a hell of an accurate powder charge you gave me, I had snake eyes on a 300 meter gong, and a 5:30 strike on the white bullseye painted on a black buffalo.
Two more strikes at the 400 meter gong much less than MOA, i'll take that any day of the week with barrel sights, I have a bit of filing to do to get my 100 and 200 yard zeros where they need to be, this rifle, with my paper patch bullet, and your powder charge, is going to be a stone cold killer of a shooter.
It fouls very little for a 75gr charge of black powder, I fired 4 rounds with no wiping, inserted a live round into the dirty barrel, it came right out with ease, just some soft damp fouling crud on the paper patch, I have something I can work with here.
Thanks for all the guidance, help and opinions on this cartridge selection and build Gents, I really appreciate it.
