Good to hear.
Will you keep weigh'n your charges now, due to the lower E.S?

Gary yes I'm thinking the weighed charges with more compression makes for lower sds. Altho low sd's don't always equate to better accuracy. I believe a person could easily work up accurate loads with this stuff, and never have to worry about the chronograph.

RE: Old E
Fellers this stuff is getting weirder every time I turn around.
I left all the cleaning patches from the chronograph session and the fired cases in my line box. (on purpose) This morning I opened the box up and it don't stink. I started to depriming the cases and notice that most of them still show brass on the inside the case mouth, some a little "carbon" fouling, and some some white stuff looks like strings of paper. Anyway off to the coffee can, the usual dollop of Simple Green and water, put the lid on shake em up slosh it around, take the lid off , still no smell other than the Simple Green. Start rinsing the cases still in the can and all that comes out is a small amount grey/brown residue and down the drain it goes , no smell....

RE: Old E
I noticed this last night Don when I cleaned the brass after two days shooting. The fouling in the brass after shooting and when It sat for more then a day does not look like a black powder fouling. Also I dont see the dragon blood right after the shot was fired and your right there is no sulphur smell when the cases are in the water.

The fouling in the case is shiny like maybe graphite was rubbed on the brass.

I fired 7 rounds of 1 1/2 and 7 rounds of 2f day before yesterday. Very little smoke, no smell at the range. In the shop, no smell on the cleaning patches. I have never seen black powder act like this.

RE: Old E
Kurt the absolute lack of muzzle berries in the cases is really suspicious.

Thats me. 20 fired cases a dozne or so cleaning patches all shut into the range box in the house for 24 hours, and when that lid was opened., no smell other than the bit of ballistol that had spilled long ago...

RE: Old E
It was bright out and maybe I couldn't see it but I did look down the case as soon as I extracted it to see what the fouling in the case looked like.
Maybe they went back to the less smoke formulas. I still cant say if I get more or less smoke by the time I lift my head the way the wind has been blowing it's gone and there is a lack of sulphur smell. Maybe the jeers that stinks I get at the range will end up now, did you load some smokeless Smile
