Where are folks from?

I was born and raised on the farm near the town of Long Prairie in central Minnesota. After high school I worked on construction jobs around MN, then I drove 18 wheelers all over the US and Canada for several years. In 1981 I came back to the farm and now I'm the third Ted Kramer farming our Century farm. It's a small dairy farm, keeps me busy but I manage to find time to host some fun shooting matches here on our shooting range.

Moved to Conroe Texas working for a friend----Managed Engineering there for 23 years. retired there---- then Partner and Vice President Estate Cartridge Inc. till we sold to Federal

Keep my hand in with Engineering work at a friends Machine shop---------Tried to retire and missed the challengers of working (got bored)------

Orville Loomer, grew up in Noth Dakota on fram ranch, worked in the oil feilds, 20 years with the National Park Service, owned and operated an RV Park in Williston for the last 15 years, sold out this winter moved to Wy. The city surrounded me and my shooting range and it was time to leave. I've built and shoot muzzle loaders, single shot rifles sense the 1970s, the single shot rifles being the sharps, working mostly with paper patched bullets and the rifles and chambers to get them to shoot and perform like the originals.

Sorry to hear that North Dakota lost an upstanding citizen and bullet master/historian/fine fellow. Wyoming better treat you well. What is happening in Williston and all across North Dakota is just mind boggeling. Hope to see you at the Q or other classic gathering.

Where are all the folks on the forum from and what do you do or don't do for a living?

I am in south western North Dakota north east of Sentinel Butte. We moved here from KY in order to avoid jobs and work and stuff. Mostly succeed but have to watch out. Every time Grace or I go some where, some low life is trying to hire one or both of us to do something. Most of the time, it is something we don't know how to do or want to do but it does not seem to make a difference.

I am back in Kentucky where you left me, Dan. I am looking forward to coming out there and seeing you; flirting with the good-looking Schafer sisters; and, maybe, killing a few prairie dogs in your neighbor's pasture.

I am still working at the airport and keeping them flying. Nothing about an airplane is cheap except the owner. As we both go back to when tanks had rifled guns and big diesel engines, Fort Knox has become a sad place since they painted over the Armor insignia on the water tower. The ranges have gone silent; I do so miss the sounds of night Table VIII on Yano!!
