Dave the three new shooters are shooting well. I spent a little time with the two lever rifles. The .30-30 93 Marlin is shooting very good with black powder loads. I shot 20 rounds with smokeless in the 30-30 but loaded with 4895 the only smokeless I have. But it cycles the black well and very good accuracy using it so it will get a diet of it.
The 95 Marlin .45-70 shoots a 63 gr load of 2F using a Pope design bullet good so I will feed it that load.
The .45-90 CPA held me close to the top at the Q and the Mt. 1000. I had a couple plow dirt that I asked my self What the HEY is it doing over there
So at the first snow fall I checked this out and I found the 1/16 T/L alloy with the bullet patched a halve thousand over bore did not fill the grooves using a 83 gr load.
This makes me wonder just how good the purity Roto Metal really is. Walters lead/tin at 1/16 fills the bore very well.
I have several thousands cast and patched that I will have to pull the patch off and repatch them with a little thicker paper. No big thing.....just a little extra work.
How about on your end??
