1889 Marlin?

RE: 1889 Marlin?
Thank you Mr. McDowell.
Does anyone have one of these apart to verify if there is or is not a retraction shoulder in the forward slot? I have made one fp wrong already and would prefer not to repeat.
As an incentive, I will make a decent drawing of the finished firing pin and post it here.
Thanks.

I won't have time to take this rifle apart for a couple of weeks. To much ammunition to load for the matches.
Do you have the broken pin?

As I originally posted, I am making a pin from scratch as there was no pin with the bag of parts. Nor was there a stock or a buttplate or a forend tip.     But there is a stock now and I found the other parts at various gun shows.
Good luck at your shoot.

Any news on this? I'd like to verify the front slot as a clearance and not a retractor feature before I do any more cutting on my blank.

RE: 1889 Marlin?
It would be easy to make a new pin for the Marlin.
Unsolder the hook from the pin and order a diameter drill rod and shape the rod instead of making the hook and pin in one piece and solder it back on.
The reason a dog has so many friends is because he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
