Shot another match with it. We shot 28 on both days. 2 chickens Saturday and 5 Sunday. Winds were really really bad on Sunday. A few times I thought we might loose the roof that is over our firing line. In spite of that the 38 held its own. Since the friendship debacle I have shortened my brass and that seems to have made things much much better. My brass is about .008 short of the chamber. I used LDPE wads for this match and had poly rings but no paper rings but either way. This thing is shooting really really well. Sunday on rams I tried using unsized bullets and that almost cost me the match. For whatever reason the unsized bullets gave me a ton of verticals. They are really really hard to chamber and I am not able to push them in with thumb pressure. The projectiles that are sized to .364 before patching chamber very easy and they shoot so well. Next match is here in a few weeks. We will try it at 1200 yards which will be very interesting.

The bore in my 38-50 is a slip fit bore ride of 0.366"

PS How are the rods working?
I have not used them yet but I suspect that they will work just fine. I have another jag set up that I want to try with your rod but I didn’t want to try it for the first time at a match.
