But it will be good to have the rifle in hand before loading any more

I wonder if I'm the only one who ever loaded a buttload of rounds for a new rifle only to find they wouldn't chamber!BlushBig Grin

Loaded ammo prematurely ? ..Yes..I've been caught out a couple of times doing exactly that. Waiting for 'that' rifle... is just excruciating... especially the last month or two. Isn't that right Jim ? Big Grin.

.. Both those profiles look to be pretty safe with not too pronounced an ogive on the BACo bullet by the look of it.

J.B.,

Actually I'm pretty used to it, it's been the last month or two for the past 6 months now! Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinConfused

Thats what I'm talking about!!!! Got zinged on both a tapered PPB seated too far out and the old Rcbs 370 greaser with a too large nose diam.

I'm behaving myself pretty good, which isn't at all like me! I have not "loaded" a single round,......yet! Those two just have the bullets seated in the cases with no powder so I could see how they would look seat deeper in the case. I'd say they look very good! Cool

I think I'd be pretty safe to load up a few of these straight sided bore diameter PPB in the cases that I fireformed in Kurt rifle. He has the same chamber I ordered with the same rim thickness. I can't really seat a bore diameter PPB too far out to get into trouble. Still I'm resisting the urge to start loading ammo knowing that something will come back to bit me. Confused

However, it would be fun to maybe load just one with everything to see how all the components fit together. No, No I'll just wait and be good! But it's hard to be good! Especially with all the enablers around here! Rolleyes

Aw geez I had forgot about the RCBS bullet thing,,, yep on further inspection, it turned out the nose of the thing wouldn't even fit in the Shiloh barrel...Still have that mould too..

Hopefully this Chinese Virus thing starts to settle soon and Shiloh brings their people back to the factory .

"...reloading bench casino...",

LOL, yea been there done that!

We're supposed to be up to our butts in snow by the end of the day tomorrow and I'll be all depressed and I'll break down and load "just one" so I'll feel better!

My wife asked me yesterday, "And what is THIS rifle going to be for?". I just said, "Oh well, you know, shooting."! I think I also said something about "historical significance" and "early buffalo hunters" and several other key points all of which missed their mark! She just rolled her eyes!

41 years and nothing has changed.

I hate that '' what is this rifle for" thing.... LOL

We are supposed to get swatted pretty hard with a return to winter tonite. Then it's back to February temps for the rest of the week.. Sure be glad when winter gets thru with us.
