Kurt on that target you have written .443 for that bullet. Is that the diameter after wrapped or as cast? And what paper are you using?

That is a good group for sure. Sure wish I had my .44-77 to be playing with, I am just a bit jealous of the ones that have them.

I have a half a ton of bullets cast up and waiting. I have actually run out of things to make or buy to be ready for the rifle. I put everything in a box and set it all aside. I'll move on to shooting my .22 for now. I really like that MVA B5 scope I put on it.

I was thinking that bullet might be swaged because I didn't see your index mark on it. I get all excited when I see a new bullet and start thinking about a new mold. It's an addiction. I'll be trying those you sent eventually so I just need to be patient.

I cast a bunch of light bullets (1.250" long) from my BACO adjustable for fireforming. After that is done I'll do some load development and testing with the many different bullets I have from you and Don. There is no way to know when that will happen. Damn virus!

What do you use for a binder?

That one is just as it can out of the can. Putting pressure on it squeezes the natural oil out of the corn. I dropped that one and it broke. But adding a little oil adds to the firmness.

Is that 434470 the mold that BACO sells? I like that one and the middle one (2-D).

I will most likely be ordering the BACO 430520 which I believe has the same nose as their 434470, but it is a length better suited to my 17-twist barrel. I'm holding back on any more molds until I have the rifle, there is no point in getting too far out in front of this. I pretty sure I'll need it more at .432" diameter, which if I understand correctly BACO will do for me.

The two molds I have now cast at .431-ish and patch to a half a hair under .438". That should get me started even though they are a bit small in diameter.

I had a 432 diameter bullet but found it to not work well beyond 600
That’s when I asked Dave about making this 434470 and it is a. Good bullet
I really like the verticals it holds at 1000 when cast from 16-1 and wrapped in 7 lb in the 17 twist barrel
That dual diameter is the same as I brought you when I was in Lodi
Actually been thinking about asking Brooks to make it in a base pour with that original postel nose

Jim, how much do you have to patch those 431 bullets up to?
I had forgotten what that Krieger barrel bore and groove dimensions?

I have an assortment of thicker paper. Some even 100% cotton bond.
Strathmore 370-9 is about 0.002" . Would that add enough?
