RE: ChristmasHunting
Dave, Thanks for the weather heads up, and ya got that right for the weather in this part of the country for the next week or so; wind chills -40*+ and periods of light snow most of the week. Not unusual at all this time of year.

Was out on the ice fishing today for the 1st time, and the ice is close to 20" thick now on the smaller lakes; might be another 40" ice winter before spring. Fishing was great, but the catching was slow.

BTW how did your wild pig hams you mentioned earlier turn out for you? Old Army mess sergeants are always interested in that sort of stuff.Big Grin

Regards

RE: ChristmasHunting
Hi Ramrod:

The Wild Hog Ham came out GREAT !!!!---------------Baked it for Christmas with the kids---cloves, killer bee honey and brown sugar--------tender not too salty "just right"

Two more are curing as we chat here.

Soon it will be time to get the grinder out for burger and sausage---we have 6 rutty old bucks to process.

ICE fishing-------REALLY------ D$&# i just go to the fridge when i need ice Smile

Hi Stephen:

We had a great time just too short----------still have plenty of cool weekends ahead to work on the hogs and coyotes

Hey Bruce------------good to here you were bypassed by the fire------------scary stuff-----we had wildfires here during the drought several years ago, scary stuff !!!!!

Onward through the fog

RE: ChristmasHunting
dave,
thank you.
13 houses razed to the ground and at least 20 more suspected but unconfirmed.
11 injured firefighters but no deaths.
800 firefighters on the ground and still not under control.
nature is a powerful thing with fire, water, wind, etc.
the motor on our bore pump has just blown up and it is 400' down the hole. the bore is pulled waiting for a new motor, and we have no water.
not a comfortable situation in these times.
keep safe,
bruce.
