LOL Don, sorry I can't feel bad for you as I am pretty much in the same boat. I have a rifle, a barrel, brass, no mold yet and am waiting on the funds to get the barrel threaded and chambered. At that point I will also be joining the .44 club. Just makes me wonder if I did make the right decision to go with the 44-77 or if maybe the 44-70 would have been the better choice. But for what it is worth I think I will stick with the origional plan and stick with the 77 since I have most of the brass I want. Next hard decision will be to pick a GG mold to get things started with. When I am ready to upgrade to a PP mold, you guys will have the best design pretty well sorted out and the decision should be easy.

What twist will your barrel have?
Before you go to buying a mould you may want to try some bullets out. I believe John Olsen has already got the blocks made for the Money bullet Dan T designed for me. BACO also has that design, but I haven't heard any word yet on them ready to ship me one. I also have a Brooks original postell I could send you some bullets out of when you're ready.

I have a .446 Baco GG money bullet mould. When you get that barrel mounted get ahold of me and I will let you cast some up till you get your mould to make sure it will work for you. This bullet will not stay stable past 500 yards in a 1/19 ROT and my PP chambers are to tight for a GG in the 16 and 17 ROT so I cant use them in those rifles

Don, I have a 17 twist Greenmountain barrel, 3.5 contour. I guess I got lucky when I was ready to make the purchase, I called and they happened to have 2 on the shelf, but that was last year.
Kurt I appriciate the offer of a few bullets I will keep that in mind when the time comes.

That is what I was thinking. Since the Shiloh barrels are 19 twist and shoot well, and green mountain seems to have a good reputation I figured it would be a safe bet to go with them.
I am also thinking of betting one of their lever action taper barrels in 32-20 to put on my Cadet. That job is a long way off but it might not be a bad time to invest in a barrel.

C Sharps is using Green Mtn barrels now, and from the results I've seen from folks that have 44's from there those are good barrels.
Having a barrel around for a project in the future is never a bad investment.
