RE: Model P Colt
Okay, the .44/40's with the 8 grains of Unique were tried in the 5 1/2" SAA this morning, with great results. The first picture is the group that I shot, once again from 50 feet with a two-hand hold. Only 10 shots were fired in this group. I did think about shooting another 5 or 10 shots through this target but those added shots would not have shrunk the group at all. And, like Lumpy suggested, with this load my group is centered much better in the bullseye. While it does have more than enough "spread," this shows a better target that what I had gotten with the same gun but using the 9 grains of Unique loading. Then I had enough bad judgment to let Allen Cunniff try a target with my gun and his target is shown in the second picture. Allen has slightly younger eyes and a steadier hand, and his score is a bit better. That was almost enough for him to not get invited to shoot my six-gun again but notice that he has one shot further out, touching the white, than I do. So, I guess I will invite Allen to shoot with me again... But the point is how the 8 grains of Unique does shoot better than the 9 grain loading, at least the evidence is leaning that way right now. Shoot sharp, Mike

RE: Model P Colt
Maybe, next time make Allen shoot one handed?

Well, yes... It really doesn't hurt me to be outshot. After all, I pretty well used to it. Besides, there is the slim chance that I'll outshoot him! If that happens he'll never hear the end of it. Shoot sharp, Mike
