RE: Black Powder poll
Well Don nobody else is doing it so I will start my explanation why Smile

It was a tough choice between the KIK and The Goex Olde Eynsford powder. My supply of KIK is just about gone because I been using the Olde E more because it's just shooting lights out in all of my rifles. And it's American made!!!

Kurt that's about the same as my thoughts. The nice thing about the Eynsford for me is that in the 44 the velocity edge over the limit to shoot Raton was safely well above the KIK that just barely made it on my chronograph. When I chrono'ld at Raton the velocity off of theirs (same brand as mine) it was 25 fps slower. So had I of went with the KIK loads it would been doubtful my rounds would of qualified..

RE: Black Powder poll
I haven't had my chronographs set up for a long time so I don't really know what it does in my .44-77 or the .44-100st.

I voted for GOEX because that's all that I have ever shot and had a good supply of it. I recently won some Olde Eynsford at a muzzleloading match and have tried some in several muzzleloaders and relly liked it cleaner burning and the impact moves up on the target so must be shooting faster. Sometime when the weather warms up I'll try some in my 38-55.

If you will allow, I'll vote for both KIK and GOEX's Olde Eynsford. KIK is giving me a lot of good shooting but Olde Eynsford does pack a bit more punch. Right now I'm using more of the KIK in my .44s but that could change, especially when going back to the .50 caliber rifles.

Swiss in my Silhouette Rifle the 38-50. In my 45-110 it's the Fg Goex Express I have a touch over a Case left of it.

After that????? Do they make old Eynsford in Fg?

Goex for me.
Would like to try a can of the others some day.
No one with in 50 miles of me even sells BP. Buy all of mine from Powder Inc and Jerry is first class to deal with.

RE: Black Powder poll
99% of my shooting is competitive and for the last six years I've been shooting Swiss 1.5 in all three calibers, the 40-65, the 45-70 and the 45-90. I can't honestly say one is better than the other as I have done little or no comparison testing. When I switched to Swiss the big thing then was it's lot to lot consistency. I can't say that holds true anymore as this case I'm using is 3 grains less than the previous case. About that same time I acquired 17 lb. of very inexpensive Goex Express 3F and stumbled upon a very good chicken load so that is what I was using. That is until it ran out at the last match. So now I'm on a quest for a new chicken load and will try some of the Goex 3F I have first. Last summer at the 'Q' I picked up 3 lb. of Olde 'E' but have yet to give it a real test. By the time I got to Craig he only had part of a case left. I tried a bit of it and liked the results but as it's not available here so far it's a bit of a waste developing a load. I'll be there a lot quicker this year.
