Gunner the rubber mallet is for driving the sticks in the ground. Like Monkeyboy says, there's some places a 5 lb sledge would be about right..

I have intended to revisit this rifle using Seth Cole 55Y, but good intentions pave the way to hell I suppose, and just haven't got back to it. Was going to shoot it at the last BPTR nationals, but as there weren't enough heavy guns there to give awards for Tollefson, I opted for the 45-90, that I had brought for the competitions director that told me he would be there and wanted to shoot the Creedmoor, he didn't show...So I shot his ammo, and was really happy with the way it and my spotter preformed in that miserable wind ahead of the front that ended up cancelling the last day of the match.
