Accurate 45-500N bullet mould
Does anyone have any experience with this bullet in a .45/70 shown on p. 15 of the Accurate catalog. I mainly interested in a somewhat lighter bullet for hunting. Any info will be appreciated, good or bad. Thanks in advance.

Regards
IR

RE: Accurate 45-500N bullet mould
The 45-500N would be a very good bullet. Also the .45-400Q, .45-400P, .45-420P, or the .45-475P, cast .440" in diameter 20/1 alloy would also be very good hunting bullets. The original Sharps load was the .45-75-420. Good enough for buffalo. I really like a good sized meplat on the bullet so I don't have to worry about the bullet not expanding. I have hunted extensively with 480 grain bullets and they will shoot through anything in North America and length wise through most anything. I'm using a 500 grain bullet now because I shoot a .45 2 7/8 SS an the proper load is .45-500-105. Any one of those bullets will work very well.

RE: Accurate 45-500N bullet mould
The 500-N would make a very good hunting bullet as well the once Michael listed but I think I would use them for the single shot rifle and not a lever action were they could create a feeding problem pealing the patch back if the round comes up at a angle feeding into the chamber.

I just sent Tom two prints of the bullets SgtDog0311 has been working on and Tom just put them in his catalog on page 16 and 17 the 46-454-A and the 46-467-L. I want to use these for the 95 Marlin 95 .45-70 or the Sharps for taking a follow up shot with out a feeding problem form a fouled chamber.
I ordered a iron block mould with both of those bullets in one block. That is like getting a second mould for $15. Smile
Heck that 46-454-A might even make a good chicken load Tongue
The reason a dog has so many friends is because he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
