I had at one time a 25 in 45 colt with a heavy target barrel, that thing was just majic and one of the guns I really hated to have to sell. Have had some good times with 24's and 29's but never owned one. Almost bought a 28 once, but the things are so ugly.... Sure would like to find a deal on a 57.

Got a few. M24, 25, 27, 28, 29 and 57 plus an early M&P/Hand Ejector .455 and a 1917. I think that is it but might should go look. I don't shoot them all that regularly but I highly cherish each one of them.

Now you're talkin', loaded with a 325 gr. LBT and a compressed load of H110, that comes from my Ruger Blkhwk 4 5/8"er. Very bad news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for anything on the receiving end!!!!!!!!!!!.

Don I wish I'd a known you were in the market for a 57. I sold my 6" Nickle 57 last spring and it was a good shooter. M28's maybe ugly to the eye but they will shoot with the 27 any day in my experience. bobw

Bob you're right about those 28's, and they'll take a heck of a pounding that the 27's won't.

Aren't the 27 & 28 the same gunHuh
Just a different finish, gloss blue vs. matte.

they are , lump, just not as pretty but way more functional ,I do wish they had lengthened the cylinders on them though, ,mine are not matte just not polished to the extent of the 27, and the top strap on the 27 is gussied up for glare , the 28 just bead blasted or sand what ever they used, they just shoot forever though..
