RE: CPA
Besides that the regional 22 match in Cheyenne is the same weekend as Baker.

RE: CPA
Don mine took a week or two longer to ship out after they said it was pretty much done and ready to ship. It was worth the wait though. It looks beautiful. I don't know how it shoots yet though :-). I probably won't get the chance until after the mid-june Kamloops match is done.

Mine is for the ASSRA bench matches with a few barrels and two stocks :-). When I first called in the order it was going to be a single barrel, .38-55 RKS, and then I had second thoughts. Now it's also got a 32-40 Douglas XX, and a .22lr Douglas as well. I also got a benchrest forearm just in case :-)

I hope you get yours soon.

Chris.

RE: CPA
Chris.

When I ordered my CPA I had a .22 barrel added with the .44-75 and when I pulled the .44 barrel off and felt how hard it was locked onto the receiver I thought, man it would be a shame to have this loosen up in time switching barrels. The .22 is a tack driver, cant say anything else about it so when the .44 barrel had to be replaced I told Gail just build another rifle and lock that new barrel on tight. I don't want to switch barrels and loose accuracy in either one of these rifles.

RE: CPA
Kurt-Coat those bbl threads with copper anti seize and you won't have anything to worry about.

RE: CPA
Kurt I've thought of the same thing. With my other CPA i've probably only switched the barrels maybe 5 or 6 times in two years. I'm trying to minimize the number of times I do that. With the new rifle it was going to have the RKS barrel turned up tight. I want to see if it's possible to be reasonably competative as a BP bench gun using breech seated PP bullets. It has the same chamber as my CSA .38-55 which is very accurate, but this one has a better stock. Then I thought to myself, what if I'm wrong and can't get it to shoot well enough, so as a more "sure thing", I ordered the .32-40 with their standard breech seating chamber. And then I looked into my safe at my .22 match ammo that I never use. I thought, gee it would be nice to have barrel to shoot that in :-)

There is a fellow on the ASSRA site that goes by the name of "boats" and he has lot of experience with the CPA rifles and says it's not a problem to change them a lot. I still worry a bit about it, and lubricate the threads as well as minimize the swaps.

Chris.
