RE: Period correct '74 Sharps Buffalo Rifles?
Well, what a morning, was confirming zeros out to 400 yards with my new Shiloh 44-77 and 475gr paper patch bullet and Kurt's load of 75gr OE 2F, the load clocks 1375 fps and is very accurate.

I installed a semi-buckhorn rear barrel sight, RDNCK sent me a new copper penny front sight, I began to carefully file the sight to a 100 yard zero, raised the ladder, and with the slightest hint of front sight in the bottom of the ladder valley the rifle hits about 6" high at 200 yards.

Same with the ladder sight all the way at the bottom for several good 300 yard hits, finished up working on the 400 yard setting.

But, before I ran out of ammo, I had just went up and repainted my 100 and 300 yard gongs while the rifle cooled, had made a few texts and a phone call, was probably sitting 15 minutes or so drinking from a gallon jug of water and what step out? a coyote pup proceeded to walk over by my 200 yard gong, sat on his butt looking at it.

I jumped up, set my 200 yard sight setting that I had just verified 6 or 7 times that morning, took careful aim and BOOM! the pup flipped in the air, I was stupefied Big Grin, you cant make this stuff up.

Goes to show what accurate rifle Shiloh builds, and with a little practice, and a good load crazy things are possible, I sent the pic to RDNCK, he forwarded it to Stephen Borud, maybe he will see this post and put the pic up.[/i]
