RE: Henry RIfle - Mike Brooks - 10-10-2012 Yes, it was the 1860. The action is plenty strong for reasonable loads. I always shot BP in it. I sold it to one of my friends and he shoots some smokeless in it from time to time with no problems. I have seen some of the American henry co. guns in person and was not impressed. Kurt RE: Henry RIfle - Lumpy Grits - 10-10-2012 Kurt, pretty sure they don't have what you want. http://henryrepeating.com/ Gary RE: Henry RIfle - Mike Brooks - 10-10-2012 (10-10-2012, 11:07 AM)Kurt Wrote:(10-10-2012, 08:47 AM)Mike Brooks Wrote: . I was down at the gunshop today and picked up one of their brochures. They don't make an 1860. I'd go with one of the Italian guns, far better quality. RE: Henry RIfle - Wincacher - 11-19-2014 Henry is now making a replica of the original 1860 model. According to them it is an exact copy. The non-engraved model has a MSP of $2300. RE: Henry RIfle - kenny s - 12-01-2023 just bought an Uberti 1866 yellow boy rifle. paid extra for great wood. worth the $1850 pay once, gun is forever. 38 special calibre. very nice gun, first targets at 50 feet put all in ONE HOLE centered. yup. One hole. store bought bullets. Now, I've got some cast 125 RNFP done, SPG lubed, and 5.4 Accurate #5. I'll try that and then 5.6 listed as at 900 fps, with 5.8 max charge which I will not do. more to post. Ken RE: Henry RIfle - Kurt - 12-01-2023 I gave up on the Henry. I did shoot a Uberti .44-40 and it was a fine shooter with a very smooth action. I settled on a 93 Marlin square bolt in the .30-30 cal. fine rifle with a mint bore and still has some case color. It was well cared for. Bottom rifle. The top is a 95 Marlin in the .45-70 cal. RE: Henry RIfle - kenny s - 12-02-2023 just got an 1866 in 38 special. great shooting gun. one hole group at 50 feet. will try longer. reloading now too and it's easy and everything IS available. 44 40 not so much.
