28# Kansas Tom
Got this Ole Tom this past Friday afternoon near Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He was strutting up and down Elm Creek and by himself and when I hit the slate call a couple of licks....up went his head and he looked like he was 6' tall standing on his tip toes looking for the hens he thought he'd found! One more yelp and by golly he looked like a half-back running with a football coming to me. He stopped, gobbled twice...I hit the slate again and he came straight on to me. When he went behind a cedar bush I brought the 870 Super Mag up and when he stepped from behind the cedar....well....that was the last 'hen thought' he'd ever have! And man....was he good! Fried him up that night and he fed all 8 of us at the camp!
