Ol Rick has been regailing us with his target for about 10 years now.
I put this one together from an old Morril 7 wheel rake for the frame and a hunk of 4x4 plate that was apparently a truck bed extension. Got it at a consignment sale for 75$
The little one to the left is an old frog plate from 80lb rail, and to the left of that is two steel posts holding a pallet that is the perfect fit for a F class target. They're set in a draw west of the house that I can shoot just a twitch over a mile when the cows aren't in the way.

I had just that plan two yrs ago. I acquired a 4X4 sheet of steel and brought it with me for the summer. rained so much that the only places I could have shot on a regular basis was off the county rd, so it passed for a thick bedliner all summer. Took it back home and used it for the 900 yd diamond at our Long Range Match. Couldn't have used it last summer much either because of the fire danger. Maybe this year I can just prop one of those steel plates up against the wing of an airplane and go to shooting

AR400 plate won't curl....which is what the center plate is! 3/8" thick 44" diameter plate which is the size of the Creedmoor aiming bull won't curl much! If it do....I just lay on the concrete and drive a dozer over it! The mainframe 72"x72" plate won't curl! It's 5/8" thickness and 720 gr. .50 caliber just splatter!

I don't know about that Rick, with cull cows bringing over a grand, unless it was an ol cancer eye or lump jaw that the only thing you could do is hamburger her, there'ld be damn little sense in shooting something you'ld have to pressure cook the gravy, when you could of just sold her and bought something a bit more easy on the teeth..

Well....ere....hmmmm....'toofies' ain't a problem! I've got hardened steel inserts driven into me gums with store bought 'toofies' that I can chew steel ball bearings with!! Way I got that 'cow' figured it you didn't get but 450# of meat outa that cow....at around $3.50 a pound steak cost....you'd be $450.00+ ahead of the game!!
Freedom, That is a good idea, and thanks for it. I got the paper and spray paint, and I think I can shake a pallet or 2 out of the bone pile easy enough. Thanks again.
