Today I shot the second test with 5 shots using the new lot of 2F Swiss.
I used the same loads as the three shot first test but I shot the bottom 5 groups using the same powder load and the same Winchester brass but I used Federal 150 LP GM primers to see what the difference between the pistol primers and large rifle primers makes. I did not use a paper disc under the powder on the bottom row like I did on the first.
I also shot two groups making sight changes for center using 57 gr of the 1.5 Swiss I had loaded since the Quigley shoot.
All in all I feel this new case of 2F Swiss in this rifle will work with just about any powder charge and I don't see much of a change between LR or the LP primers.
I'm very happy with this DZ Hepburn. I don't know if it's the rifle or caliber that is holding close groups with the one grain increase of weight per load that it does not open the groups more.
Now to dig out the .38-50 CPA and give it a try again with this lot of powder
