RE: Desert International scores
Most of us filled out equipment lists.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the Black Powder Cartridge News in a couple months.

Steve,

You did some fine shooting, good work.

A lot of us don't get the news, can you say what you used to do so well ?
And who you were teamed up with.

Well done, Steve!

I hope we will see some details posted from those who were there. Congratulations to all who shot in this match!

Getting ready to go shoot the final day, at 1000 yards.
The difference today, is no wind coaching allowed.

I am shooting my Shiloh 74 45-70, with Swiss 2F 74 gr, and a 540 gr BACO Money grease groove bullet. Zack Taylor is my partner this year, and is a major reason for my good scores.

Yesterday was very tricky wind. I came in third, 12 points behind Dave Gullo. Mark Schuenke was second.

RE: Desert International scores
This match turned out to be one of the very best I have ever been to. Lots of prizes and awards, even a raffle just for the ladies, Don and Eddy put on a great rib feast, Dennis Armistead made a metal art wall hanging flag with the Creedmoor target on it that was incredible for a raffle gift, and the song below came out pretty good. Not to mention an extremely well run match thanks to Steve Farringer's score keeping and Zack's tireless efforts to do this right.

Don did a great job getting the Creedmoor video that those of you who went to Ben Avery saw at the awards dinner up on a public Youtube. This is a public link so just click on the link below. If it doesn't come up try going to Youtube and paste the link into the search. When the picture of Gail spotting for me comes up - click on the picture and it should start playing like any other Youtube video. There's another video but it is an earlier version use the one with Gail spotting: Creedmoor V2 1 3 SD 480p. The pictures are of a lot of 1000 yard ranges, people, and places; next year we'll add in this year's pictures from Ben Avery and show it again at the dinner.

Don McDowell put up the pictures for the video, I wrote the lyrics. My son-law, Nathan Moore (nathansland.com) sang the song to the tune of Texas in 1880 by Randy Foster. Nathan is a professional singer with 5-6 albums out and has a recording studio in his basement. He was joking with me about me writing a song so I sent him these lyrics and the next day he sent back the song. I sent it to Don who put the pictures on it.

I wrote the song before we had prizes at Ben Avery - this year there were a lot of great awards and raffle prizes - and of course the wind's surprises too. There was even a raffle with prizes for the ladies who came down with their husbands. Zack Taylor did a fantastic job putting the Desert International Match together and running it while still competing.
Steve Farringer did a great job keeping up with the scores, making them available as fast as possible in a readable way as you can see in the the Match Scores thread. We had grilled steaks with all the fixings - no more fast food sandwiches.
