Here are my latest run of test groups thru my 10 twist 38-50 at 200yds bench.stix
First is my Control group with my DDEPP 371360E bullet, 1.46" long over 54.5 gr Swiss 1.5
Then a ladder test of four groups with Kurt's DDEPP 371359 bullet, with longer base band and shorter ogive. 1.42" long
61,62,63, 64.5 gr Swiss 1.5.
Looks like I need to exercise better control, what with the often diagonal groups.
Anyways, Kurt's bullet looks like it will perform in my 10 twist rifle.
I will be shooting the 64.5 gr load with what remains of the bullets Kurt gave me to try. Probably at the Rapids Aug 6 paper match. I just push the wad deeper than for my bullet.

The #5 looks like it should do well if you can get toe runner back in line.

64 grains of the old lot 18 of 1.5 Swiss compressed .080 was my accuracy load.
This new lot of 1.5 Swiss I can only get 62 grains in the case and compressed with a .030" wad and a second compression on top of the .03" with a .06" wad. So .09" compression I found the accuracy with the new lot.

I have been using 64.5 grains of a Swiss 1.5 Blend of several older lots. It fills my FF Remington cases to leave just enough room to
get a 0.060" LDPE wad started flush. I compress about 0.080-0.090 for my 371360 bullet with the short 0.1" base band..
For your bullet, I just compressed more so the longer base band just kisses the leade in front of my 0.050 or so "freebore"
as I close the actiond. I may try a few with 64 grains even, like your load.
Will be interesting to haul out the Oehler 33 to see what they are clocking

Some test loads for my wife’s rifle. Unfortunately she has no desire to use the diapers…. Not for sillywets anyways. Maybe long range… maybe but we will test some of these moneys. 1.48” long and 2 reduced bands. Powder charges are 47,48,50,52 and left over 55 grain charges that were made for the long range match. All Swiss 2F

12 twist. 12 handles my 1.47” long projectiles just fine. Going to push it a tad more and see what the 12 twist thinks of these 1.48” bullets.

The 200 yard range was not available yesterday so we had to just try 100. The best loads of all were the 48 grain load which gave just a tiny bit of compression. 5 shots measured under 1.5”. The damn stock on this thing is so short though that the scope kept hitting me in the nose and head. My nose is still tender and my head hurt all day yesterday. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner but when we got home I took the stock off of her rifle and put my stock on it. That should make the next range session much less painful. Next time we will do 10 shot groups at 200 but that won’t be for a few more weeks.
