50-90 paper?

RE: 50-90 paper?
I don't think that I ever shot 100 yards with mine.
My 200 yard setting using the MVA 103 Soule using 110 gr of 1F KIK was 39 and I think the 1000 was 188 or 192 depending on the light.

Thanks Kurt, I bet that 50-90 of yours doesn't even have to be fired to speak to you, I can tell you really like it, i'll have fun with this C-Sharps 50 here on steel, there's a nice flat rock on the mountain exactly 700 yards from my bench, need to get welder buddy of mine to cut me out a buffalo, build a stand, or drill the rock to put some heavy wall pipe in to hang him from.

Gunner you might want to think about a simple 36 inch circle plate for that 700 yard target.

RE: 50-90 paper?
10-4, Thanks Don, that would certainly be easy, drive some pipe in the ground behind the big 700 yard rock, use the appropriate lengths of chain and hang it off the face of the rock, a simple pull up to repaint would be a piece of cake, surely I wouldn't shoot holes in 3/8ths plate.

So, what yardage do You and Kurt like for shooting a ladder to verify accuracy on a new load build? 200 yards?

Thanks again Men.

RE: 50-90 paper?
To be honest I seldom shoot a ladder
Rather I build a load if it looks good at 500 then It’s back to 1000 then if it’s good there with not a lot of verticals then go get sight settings at 6,8 and 9 and recofirm 1000

Great, so if I fire a five or ten inch [1 to 2 moa] five shot group at 500 yards, that load is good enough for further testing?

Cant wait to get home to cast, paper, load and shoot, been thinking OE 2F over the Swiss 1F, if 1286 fps can be reached with 10 ro 15 grains less powder, fouling should be more easily managed as well, will give both a good shake out.

Heck, hunting season is over, bills are paid, just feeding cows till hay season gets here, I need to get on it.

Yes
But beware I’ve seen stuff shoot lights out to 6 get dicey at 8 and can’t buy a 9 or 1000

LOL, 10-4 and will do, that may be why Kurts bullets at 1.495-1.500 inch shoot better at long range, that 22 twist keeps em spun up good and tight, I cant wait to get started.

RE: 50-90 paper?
I only have 200 yards for testing my ladder loads and do the final tests at the matches. Most generally they hold up well. But there have been disappointments also.
I envy you guys that have a place to shoot long range.
All this talk about the .50 made me pull mine out from the back of the safe and push a couple oily patches through the bore and I think I will load some ladder loads with some OE powder and see if it shoots as well as the Goex Express and the KIK did.
I know I'm starting to get a little wimpy after I let a few rounds fly with my new .45-2.6 Axtell rifle the other day with just 100 grains of powder and a little 535 gr bullet. and I had a heavy coat on and not just a teeshirt Big Grin

Gunner you get that 36" plate up and I will help you smear some lead splatters on it so it won't rust Smile
