RE: Jamsion Brass
The bottom rifle is my new .44-77. http://flic.kr/p/cDxfzb You might ask why a cressent but plate, a single trigger, and a light standard barrel Smile That thing will kick the geeeewizzz out of you, well not so.
This rifle is the best fitting fast pointing and very accurately shooting rifle.
I don't think that this rifle will ever have a tang sight on it as long as I can lift it and shoot it. So far I have just shot 60 rounds through it using the Jamison brass and that brass does not look the same after it gets formed in the chamber but regardless it holds better then 2" at 130 yards using the front blade and Lawrence rear sight and a few days ago I finally shot it at a 200 yard target and it held 3-1/3" with the ladder up.
I just wish that I didn't change my mind in 99 for this rifle as you see it for the rifle I ended up ordering.
I have very high hops when I get this brass fire formed to fit the chamber properly and the accuracy gets better.
Now that the brass will be in supply it might get the popularity again that it deserves.
It's a great cartridge.

Gary if you're looking thinking a rifle for Barb, go with a roughrider with a 30-32 inch standard barrel in the 44-77. Recoil won't be bad, the lack of the cheek piece on the roughrider will probably make the rifle fit her much better.
Powderburner has that business rifle and it's just an absolute delight to shoot.
I'm looking awfully forward to getting my grubby paws on Kurts rifle.

RE: Jamsion Brass
thats interesting rdnck,
I have a lot of problems with oct, barrels on sticks ,I always have one flat and one edge on the thing .in recoil it jumps unpredictably, I have tried all widths and heights and they all come out the same ,
The round ones do roll around but at least when you hold tight they recoil straight,
it might just be a talent with me, or the bull barrel dont fit sticks like a thinner barrel does,
