I spent some time with the 93 and the 95 Marlins as well as the .444 Marlin 95.
I had Tom at Accurate moulds make a brass 2 cavity 43-280-F for the .444 and a 31-151-G 3 cavity brass for the .30-30. I must say that Tom makes a top quality multi cavity mould that all three cavity's as well as the two cavity thrown exact bullets in weight and diameter and fall freely from the mould when I open the blocks.
The .444 with the micro groove barrel never would shoot the way I wanted it to but the 280-F is now usable if I want to use it for lever matches. The 95 45-70 lever rifle eats the 121-PH like my cookie munchers eating Nana's cookies with a load of 2F OE. It will feed a 50 round box so fast that the barrel gets to hot through the wood forearm to make it uncomfortable to hold long.
The 93 marlin shot the bullets out of a Lyman 311041 mould that was supposed to cast a 173 gr bullet drops a 186 gr. It shot OK at 100 yards but it had a problem at 200. This made me get a mould from Tom with a 150 gr and 40 gr of 2F OE sure woke this rifle up. I think it's going to do the job well for me.
Now if I could just get Tom to make a prolate for my .44-100 rem st.
