Crazy 303 brit question
So out of curiosity I am thinking of loading 303brit with BP. The thing I am running into is a suitable bullet mold. They are all designed for a gas check and I am having a hard time finding a plain base design. I am looking for a 215gr bullet if I can but a 190 would work. I think this would be fun with as much 3F as I can get to fit in the case would for sure get some attention at the range Big Grin. My groove dia is 314 bore is 303 two grove 1/10 I am not opposed to paper patching if that is what it takes.

Any thoughts from the group?

Take a look at what might be available from Accurate moulds.

Accurate will cut a mould the way you want and if you want the right thing, it will be a great mould. If your request/design is too far off, Tom will discuss it with you. make some verey soft bullets with your existing mould , check them and try them out without a wad. Might be surprised.

Sounds good Dan. I planned on using the same alloy I use in the 45-70 roughly 30-1. I will give him a call. Thanks

JReed, Take a look at Accurate's #31-210F. That's a plain base bullet with nice deep lube grooves. You can ask Tom to cut the mold so the bullets drop out of the mold measuring .315" at the bands. Shoot sharp, Mike

I have always thought a ruger no 1 in 303 loaded with black and cast would be a nice little outfit for certain applications.
keep safe,

I dont have a ruger No 1 ( wish I did) but think it would be a lot of fun if for nothing else than shooting at the range.
