RE: We Shot the Sausage
Hi Kurt------------yup those river bottom bucks get big up there, i killed several with a bow many years ago.
They sure make good eatin !!!!!!!! corn fed is a huge factor in that !!!!!
That shotgun or muzzle loader thing is sad
Here at least we can shootem with the Sharps---oh and if i recall correctly we could shoot as many a 5 depending on the county--------------season runs about nov 7 to january 7 make for a lot of field time
Stay warm seems a cool spell is on the way

RE: We Shot the Sausage
Using a ML here is not a handy cap. I enjoy using them and a bow. It just frosts me that the rifles like the Sharps or any other black powder cartridge rifle is not allowed when those in lines some that are loaded with smokeless like the Savage shooting sabots at 2100 fps are OK but not black powder cartridges that average below 1300 fps are not.
Then they send in what they call biologists with high power rifles ranging from .223 to the .30 calibers to thin out the deer population.
I watched these guys practice on our range where the DNR comes in with a bunch of ammo in the back of a truck for these "biologists" practice on the 100 yard line and cant hit a 5 gallon bucket shooting off sand bags.
Well nuff of this. Wonder if I have some ice cream in the freezer.
Yes the temp dropped 27 degrees since noon. But it's time.
Kurt
