Lucrezia and paper patch bullets

RE: Lucrezia and paper patch bullets
This was an old Farmer rifle. You can go into publications and read the article on it in one of the early editions and look for the article the Day Doc shot the old Farmer.

I think you'll end up with a tight chambered rifle that you have to keep separate brass for. The best 44-77 chamber out there is Kirks 7 degree lead reamer. Load those cases with a dual diameter bullet that is .436 on the base, use the dry lubed felt wad, and jojoba on the patch and shoot 14-15 rounds with nothing more than a blow tube and still shoot upper 90''s with a handful of x's at 2 and 300 yds. Or just shoot one and put a deer or antelope in the freezer..
A wise man can always be found alone. A weak man can always be found in a crowd.

Remember Don I chose Orville's tight paper patch chamber and use a .431 patched to .439 for a slip fit in the fired case. I like it a bit tighter and use a Meachem bushing die at .448 for a nice snug fit. I do not think a bullet any larger will chamber in this rifle. This thing has begun to show lots of promise and is just plain fun to load and shoot. I am thinking a 2 diameter .431 base and then to .427/.428 for good nose clearance with a fouled bore at about 450 to 480 grains for the 1/19 twist Shiloh uses in their barrels.
