Hot here to Rick, it did cool off some but it's still pushing 70. Might get some rain or snow Monday and Tuesday.

Guys are wanting to plant wheat here and isn't anyway that's going to happen until God sends some rain! We haven't had a decent rain going on 70 days now! Last time I recall a Fall like this was in 1954 when the squirrel season was closed for fear of forest fire! RH of 16% most unusual here!

RE: B O R E D!!!!!
Hard freeze warnings here tonight and tomorrow night; lows in low-mid 20's, and highs tomorrow in the 50's. Shot a turkey last Sat. and a couple of pheasants since then; all black powder. About half of the leaves are on the ground now, and we could use a good autumn rain. Lots of days now w/ strong winds. Last Sunday/Monday we had 60-70 mph winds, and the usual assortment of prairie fires to go w/ it.

Regards

It was so dry here that we almost lost our house to fire on Sunday. I cut the prairie down every fall and keep it watered. The weekend before I blew my water lines out and shut my well down for the year. This fire came on with a fury. When I saw it coming I fired my well back up and went to watering. The sheriff got my family out and I stayed as long as I could. The good Lord was looking down on us that day.
