gift for a new online friend
I am on a coin collecting site and I sent a kid some old coins that I really did not care much about and they were not worth much over face value, the kid was real excited though, I just gave the young man the coins to get him started

the young mans Dad is into metal working and sent me this cannon that he had made, .50 caliber, 1/5 scale, about 19 inches long

its an actual working cannon, he also included detailed plans for the carriage and some fuse, I can not wait to fire her

Very cool salute gun. Do you have a boat to mount it on?

That is a very nice start to a return on your investment. I am very sure that you will cherish that cannon and perhaps the howitzer as well as much or more than the new collector will cherish the gift you gave him. I think that it is always very nice to do something for someone and expect nothing in return and then get something like that given to you.
Like the rest of us, I will be anxiously awaiting a report on the rest of the projects he will be sending your way.
Sam
