Need some sugestions

Steve Garbe wrote about a large case capacity .32 that Winchester chambered for a customer in an 1885 way back when. If I remember, it was a .32 based on a .45-70 case which would probably be a .32-50 or something like that :-). Technically it's an original chambering, although an early wildcat. I would like to play with a slightly larger capacity .32 at some time, just so I could use Fg and get good stability at 200 yds/40 rods with heavy bullets. I've heard of one .32 straight wall case based on the .303 british.

I think some of the older Steven's cartridges are very interesting, especially for 200 yard shooting.

25-35 Winchester might be a quite good short range target blaster, and double up as a hunting rifle if needed.

Nope, to much of a shoulder. This one has to be a gentle taper like the 32-40 or a straight case and a lesser caliber diameter.

50-140 shooting sabots utilizing 40 cal jhp's?

You know that does shoot pretty good. I used a sabot in my .50 once when a guy was shooting one of those Savage smokeless inlines. I ask him if I could have one of those bullets to try in my .50-90. It would not fit in my case so I pulled the bullets out of two of my cases and filled one case to the mouth and pushed that sabot in with the case and it printed a nice round hole through the paper at 100 yards. I think that they could be used.

Doesn't allways work,I had a idea that the only way to improve a 50-140 was a 45-140+ used a TC sabot and a 540 ppb. the 1 in 36 twist failed to stabilize the bullet. Maybe set the mold to throw one at 300 grs and it would work I dunno. Before I went there I decided I was acting like a greaser gamer shooter and ceased my errant behavior. It's not my fault,I think the idea came out of a bottle of that Wyoming rotgut whiskey I tried once. Unlike Don I don't have enough money to throw bad whiskey away after the first drink and I know it isn't good tasting. Drink it all over 5-6 months but no point wasting it after you already wasted your money. Used up all my Elephant FFg same way but never made fertilizer out of it. Kurt I'll make you a deal on a bunch of sabots, now days I shoot roundballs cloth patched in my muzzleloaders just like the old timers did. Mostly ppb in my guns made for that too, huh I must be regressing or something .bobw

No No Bob.. you already went farther then I would just buying a .50-140 and fermented Wyoming water and getting a bunch of sabots I just used one sabot I don't get that deep into the Big-Big .50's. I'm German and Beer and Schnapps keeps my mind clear enough not to do this

I'm tellin ya, that now the governor and his brother have this moon shinin thing figured out , you get any batch past 18, and you won't set it out on the table for the guests when the lil woman has one of her community picnics. You'll keep this newer stuff in the cupboard and savor a sip once in a great while on special occasions
