Thanks, Mike. The knife is actually one of the last Ek Hunters that were made by the Ek family before they sold out to BlackJack Knives. Great high carbon steel. It's seen a few caribou, Arctic Hares, ptarmigan, fish, and a couple of East Texas Whitetails.

Yes, it went bang. On Friday afternoon, it went bang 118 times with Bill's loads using the 540gr Lymam Postells. I shot from 100 out to 500 yards at steel gongs and silhouettes using the barrel sights.

It WILL shoot! By the end of the afternoon, Bill had me doing pretty well. I could not be more pleased with the rifle. Cleanup was a breeze with no leading at all.

I need to shoot more to get accustomed to the sights and sight settings, but this "first dance" has left me wanting more.Big Grin

Ed, It sounds like you can still see those barrel sights... I need peep sights and sometimes those aren't enough. However, I haven't tried a scope, yet... It does sound like you had a great day of shooting!

For now, I can see them. We didn't measure any of the groups I shot on the steel while I was there, but Bill went back later and said that I needed to work on my front sight elevation as I was getting more vertical spread than horizontal.

It is certainly a different ball game!

Vertical spread can also be inconsistent breath control.

Inconsistant grip pressure with the gun hand and not keeping your head on the stock until well after the recoil can make for some interesting verticle as well.
