1872 that is. Hartford , 50 cal, one of 10 rifles in the same shipment, bound for San Fransico. 4 were 50's and 6 were 44's. Wish the old girl could tell her lifestory.

Yes it's the typical Hartford pewter forend. It's not a very good picture but that forearm has some scars on it that have to have a story, and probably a hair raiser behind them.

Nope haven't fired it with live ammo yet, waiting on cases to arrive.

Hey Ranch, Do you have plenty of .50/70 brass and the reloading dies? I could send you some of each. I know either you or Doc has the bullet mould.

And what are the outside spec's on that barrel? Does it have a Hartford collar?

Mike it's Hartford all the way...Barrel length is 26 , and it's 1 inch across the flats at the muzzle.
Yup have an order coming from Track of the Wolf as we speak, for cases and dies. Have a fair selection of proper bullets. Don't plan to shoot this ol girl much, just enough rounds to get a target or two to look at.
