I was really looking for a .38-55, but when I looked at it I just could not put it back. This rifle has a 4 digit SN 53XX and it looked like it spent most of it's life stuck in the corner of the closet with a perfect bore and metal.
First thing when I got home I dug out some loads with cast bullets I had loaded for the 336 Marlin and shot it at 100 yds. I put a smile on my face when I walked down to look at the target It pulls left a little and looking at the front sight it is slightly bent to the right. It must have tipped over once and got a slight bend.
