The floating pilots are pretty cheap and easy to get from Manson. I had to buy a couple of extras when I sent a reamer to CPA.

I think it's the top reamer too. That's the one that I've got in .45 for the 2.1" and 2.4" case. I used a sizing die and taper crimp die to form the cases.

I found that the 2.1" version works very well with a thin card wad plus a 0.060" LDPE. The .45-90 needs either a lube cookie, or two LDPE wads. When I used a single wad I found some burned patch fragments. I think my best targets are with a lube cookie.

I think you'll like the reamer. It'll be interesting to hear your experiences with it. When I talked with Dan a while ago he was using the 2.6" case length, but I noticed that he went back to the .38 cal rifle for the big match in Arizona.

I've recently got a case of OE 1.5. I'm hoping that the .45-2.4" will really like that powder. I don't think it needs too fine a granulation. With plain Goex Fg I was doing 1300 fps, and with FFg it was right around 1350 fps which is just 10 fps short of my .45-110.
