Hi Kurt:

My Shiloh has rifling that measures 0.457 with a 0.450 bore so i'll be just a bit short of the groove depth, a few test shots didn't show any lead and the patch blows off in a "puff" of white at the muzzle

My current PP loads have used tracing paper that around 0.002 and while the accuracy has been fair i usually find about 3/4's of the inner wrap that doesn't get cut by the rifling--------so i have been nosing around for either a "softer" "less dense" paper or "thinner" hoping that accuracy improves with complete cutting through of the patch.

We'll see what happens as soon as a nice day shows up for some comfortable range time.

I'm familiar with the "doctors" paper your talking about---it seems pretty dense-----i'll have my hunting partner grab some from the hospital and investigate further.
