Looks like I missed a good one.

That you did Kurt. It still amazes me that you can have four wind flags between yourself and the target and they can all point different directions and hard at times.

Or the flags are all going the same direction and the shots all end up somewhere not even close to where they should have been.

I have seen this many times. Pretty common at Baker Big Grin
I really wanted to stay out and make the 1000 but the Doctors really have their hooks in me right now and pulled me back home.

RE: Montana 1000
Now that my fingers and their high speed blisters have healed I can finally type a little(blisters from hot elevation and windage knobs from turning so fast)Shy That was the fastest conditions changing I have witnessed for a long time-maybe ever. Just when I was about to pull the trigger spotter would yell a new correction or two! Never have seen a bullet's impact so hard to move to get back on target. Sometimes taking 10 to 13 or more minutes to get back over. Congrats to Dave for an excellent job shooting. I thought the paper patch shot very consistent,as compared to some other excellent shooters and dopers,on a couple targets where the 45-110 stayed the course perhaps a little tighter than some? Elevation setting was about 14 minutes lower than the 45-90 grease groove of my highwall that Loyce shot. Fouling was never an issue with the 1-F Swiss and the 50-50 antifreeze solution of the patches. Bores wiped clean of both rifles after the match with 1 patch. Very fun day, highs and lows of emotion. Still would beat the hell out of golfing although changing my hobby crossed my mind several times during the match!!! Randy

Well Randy other than tiebreaker rules used for settling the placing ,you shot a 2 nd place score in conditions that were a hell of a lot worse than last year when you won. Nothing to feel bad about that. Our squad started on #1 in the morning leaving us to deal with #3 & 4 in the afternoon ,after chasing windage and elev corrections all over on #3 and getting a " 0" for my efforts on 3. I changed my strategy on #4 set it at 147 .5 elev. and 7.5 Left noted the wind conditions, left the damned knobs alone, looked around the rear sight at the flags back to the sight shaded as need and did 4 on #4. Tough conditions , when I look at the placings and see where I'm at I'm a lot happier than some of the others who usually shoot twice as well as I do. Good to see you and Loyce again. bobw

Bob,

Some times it's just best to keep your fingers off that idiot knob on the side of the sight and hold left or right a little when the win hits you on one or the other side of your face Smile
