2014 winner was Dave Gamble(hipshot) with a score of 24/40. Temps in the low nineties today with variable spd direction switching winds, tough cond at 1000. Ladies winner was Linda C with a 16/40. bobw

Lot's of blank stares, the lights are on, is there anybdy in there?, "You've got to be kidding me", "ARE YOU SURE'S ", "WHAT THE @@@@", "REALLY?"

One time Harlen Sage put in 12min of wind & shot it into the same hole!
After the shoot walked by & muttered something about a bass boat & fishing,

Jimbo Terry just shook his head & smiled when he said "When I was going for my zero on target #2,

Harlan still can't believe he got a zero on #3

Gene Gamble got a zero on #3, just went over & sat in my lawn chair & drank his bottle of water

Linda Clendenen just shrugged her shoulders, Butch said "That's just the way it is Frank",

Buz wouldn't tell me his score, only that it was enougn to beat me, he said he wasn't giving Nicole any guff cause she out shot him, Nicole just giggled.

After his last shot for his THIRD hit on #3, Dave Gamble just sat there with that 1000 yard stare, (did you git it, did ya, did ya) when I asked him what's wrong he grit his teeth & started cranking his windage knobs, the smoke is still boiling off them.

In our group (what I can remember)

Dave "hipshot" Gamble shot 24
2nd & 3rd place 21's
Randy Ellingrod also 21, ended up fourth I think
Past champion & two time runner up Mark Scott shot a 19
Jimbo Terry shot a 13
I shot a 12
Harlan shot an 11, I think tiffany did too
Loyce Ellingrod shot an 11

And then afterwards Randy Stenerson asked ME if I was going to turn the wind off at Big Hill for the August shoot. Evidently he'd not been paying attention to what had just transpired for the last 4 hours.

I've never had so many near misses in my life, cranked in windage & ended up holding off to boot, & still wasn't enough to get it over to the target a couple of times & I wasn't the only one!

Oh, what I also learned today, is that Swiss 1 1/2 (when it's 90+ degrees out turn's into concret), Old E 2F does not. Was wiping, two wet, one dry.
What was the dry one for you ask? I've not a clue, the f'n barrel was so hot you couldn't touch it, the dry one just ended up being extra work in my humble opinion.

Should've went haying!

Well Brian, most people reading your post would think you left some of your marbles out there on the firing line, but I was there and say you did describe it well. Got zipped twirling the windage on #3 just couldn't keep up with the change fast enuf. Determined not to make the same mistake on #4 I had on 7.5 minutes L never touched it till were done, just watched the wind flags and shaded my hold left ,right,high-low or a combo of both. Paid off for a 4 over on # 4 for me and a total of 11. Finding out others who usually do much better than I ,did the same, evens out my feelins a little. I shot from sitting over x sticks and wondered how it would have been from prone (well I know my 2 7/8 would have pounded the crap out of my shoulder,BTDT). but still wondered. I shot a large charge of 2 Fg KIK and managed the fouling well with 2 wet patches all through, no excess moisture either, barrel was not touchable after the 11 shots per target either. Still it is allways good to be there. Dave ran a smooth shoot. bobw

After shooting target 3 Mark Scott asked for advice l said if ya got a rabbits foot ya better start rubbing it. And again the wind at the Lee ranch was the big winner, l am not any better shot than many that were there, l just have a bigger rabbits foot.Big Grin

Many thanks to all that helped put this shoot on and thanks to all that come to shoot, we had 74 shooters this year, it grows a little every year, so we must be doing something right, thanks again. Dave
