RE: some 44-77 questions
While we're on 44 paper patch ,I've got a question. My 44-70 Rollers barrel is a Green Mountain and it is .438-.446 and my 44-70 2.2 has a Badger barrel that slugs the same, but my Sharps has a GM barrel that is .436-.446, will I have trouble shooting paper patch with this barrel?

For that ten thousand deep groove I would suggest using a bullet with the right nose profile that will work with a soft 1/30 alloy and patch it at bore diameter or a little beyond if the throat will allow. I went with this problem with a groove a little deeper then your .010"
For that deep groove I would go with something on the order of this profile with a soft alloy but with a lesser diameter for your .436 bore that will make your paper thickness work.. https://www.buffaloarms.com/434-470-grai...-jim434470

Bill if you're not in a hurry, I hope to get my casting bench all set up in the new man cave in the next few weeks. I could cast you up a batch of those 434-470's, and some of my super duty super secret 44 bullets and send them to you.
