Goex FFFg Express - Gunlaker - 06-24-2013 I've had good results with Goex Express FFg but am nearly out. I have the opportunity to pick up some FFFg Express at a good price. I have not used FFFg in anything. Can anyone recommend this powder? I imagine that fouling would be increased over FFg especially in hot weather? I shoot a number of different cartridges, from .32-40 on up to .50-90. Chris. RE: Goex FFFg Express - Lumpy Grits - 06-24-2013 I have had VERY good results with std Goex 3F in both my .45-70 and .45-90 Shiloh's. Bullet speed goes up a good bit also..... ![]() Gary RE: Goex FFFg Express - Don McDowell - 06-24-2013 Chris I've shot quite a bit of 3f express in the 40-65,38-55 and 45-70. When going from 2f express to 3f express in the 45-70 about a 5 gr. drop was necessary to keep the velocity the same. Other than that there wasn't a lot of difference. RE: Goex FFFg Express - Gunlaker - 06-24-2013 Thank you gentlemen. That's good enough for me, I'll place the order. Chris. RE: Goex FFFg Express - DeadEye - 06-25-2013 Chris, Is there any more? ![]() I have been using it for nigh on to six years in my 45-70. Mine was from the first '03 lot and I liked it.Paul RE: Goex FFFg Express - Don McDowell - 06-25-2013 Paul not that it particularly does you any good, but Bear River powder has/had several bags of 2f express a month or so ago. RE: Goex FFFg Express - Gunlaker - 06-25-2013 I plan on buying the rest of it from my Goex distributor :-). Unfortunately for me he's decided not to bring any Olde E. into B.C. so I'm going to be out of luck with respect to premium powders from then on. I have heard that Alberta should have a supplier for Swiss before too long though. Chris. RE: Goex FFFg Express - DeadEye - 06-25-2013 Don, In fact I spoke to Craig at the 'Q' and he told me about that stuff. Assuming one finds themselves at Canadian Customs with Black Powder to declare we are allowed 8 kg. each (17.6 lb.) A 25 lb. bag throws them into a tizzy. Normally I would declare 13 lb. and 12 lb. for Spot if it's in one pound cans. A 25 lb. bag can not be split for declaration purposes so I would be over my limit. That is assuming I found myself at Customs with Black Powder to declare. ![]() I can hardly wait to get some test loads together with that Olde E. ![]() ![]() Good to see you and Carol again, it was a Grand Time.
