Don,
Waiting is the hard part, I all fired up for my .44-77!

Kurt,
Let's face it, we're not a support group around here, we're a bunch of enablers!

What's one more rifle!

Mike it will be just as on the print. 5 degrees like I have in a couple .45's and they are working. I don't want to make this throat any longer but this might change. I have several chambers with a 4 degree/1.5 degree compounds and they are working well.
I'm going to call PTG and see what there back loge is monday. And this set will be a two reamer again. One for the chamber and the other for cutting a matching sizing die. I can make my own die for a lot less than a special order from CH-4-D and it will be proper the chamber.

Here is a pdf of the bushing die I have made up to use with the 44-77 and its short enough to use on 2.1" cases also. For some odd reason I could not put this in a pm so I will just up and share it with everyone.

Thank you Sam for sharing this.
I sure wish I had CAD software to use like that.

Well you might want to look at the KAL Tool website. The molds are first rate and weight adjustable. bobw

Bob,

I am considering an adjustable mold. I've looked at the one from BACO, which is out of stock. I'll have a look at the KAL adjustable mold (again). I believe Brooks also makes adjustable paper patch molds.

It's going to be at least a few months before I see my rifle again so I'm not in a big hurry for a mold, but I do think an adjustable would be a good choice. It looks to me that a 1.450" long bullet should work well out to 1000 yards and with an adjustable mold I could fine tune that length.

Then again, in a sport with no limit to the variables is it a good idea to add one more? Maybe not!
