RE: Slug gun project
Was able to get more work done to slug gun today. The receiver and lock housing is done except for a lot of file work and sanding to clean up all machine marks. Don't worry the Philip head screws will be replaced with machine screws and recessed into the receiver housing. I still need to make the screws, trigger, hammer and tumbler for it. Hope I am not boring ever one. Thanks for looking.

You are not boring antone interested in sluguns. The action you are machining looks just like mine, but mine was fabricated from castings.

The one that I am modeling after was made by Webb Terry. Or that is what I was told. I have an under hammer bench gun that has an action made from castings. It does look similar. The lock parts are made different and work different. I bought that action at friendship last spring. Trying to get this one shooting by this spring. Shooting slugs is definitely going to be a challenge and different. Not real sure what I am getting into. LOL

RE: Slug gun project
Guys,
This discussion certainly is not boring to me in the least, and I'm not a sluggunner at all. Just too many other irons in the fire. Keep up the interesting discussion.
Regards

RE: Slug gun project
Sorry it's been awhile since I have updated the post. I haven't been able to work on the project much lately. I have most of the machine marks filed off of the action. In thinking of a finish for the action I think I am going to try to put a color case harden look on it. That's one reason I haven't got much work done on it. I have been reading up on how to put the finish on it. That is going to be a project within its self. If anyone has done that before I would love to hear from you on the subject.
