Anyone have match photos of HV Perry or research info beyond Ned Roberts book?? I just picked up a Perry rifle and beginning to dig. Thanks

Here is a picture of my H.V. Perry rifle built in 1885. Still shoots very well.

The patent (false) muzzle was fitted to the Remington Cast Steel barrel by L.N. Walker, the shop foreman at that time. He was later made famous for his association with the Walker/Hepburn scheutzen rifle. The muzzle bears his stamp.

The rifle weighs 35 lbs. I shoot a one piece pure lead bullet weighing 977 grains. 150 gr GOEX Cartridge powder, .0035 airmail paper cross patch lubed with neatsfoot oil. Remington, CCI or Dynamit /Nobel (RWS) non -magnum percussion cap.

How long is a 977 grain bullet? And what is the twist rate of the rifling?
