Not a bite, that anybody knows of anyway. Maybe a ruptured bloodvessel, or some sort of cellutlitis?

Mt 1000 champion is ......Randy Ellingrod of Wyo shooting his 50 2.5 Sharps in the wind effectively at 1000 yds with a score of 24/40. That was 4 hits ahead of 2nd. Weather was nice but the wind blew, no skeeters probably cause they couldn't deal with the wind either. Maybe Dick Savage will give a better accounting in a day or 2 or Semtav as usual the Forsyth crew ran a extra smooth shoot. bobw

I'm taking the rear sight off of my rifle tomorrow & sending it for repairs, as I burnt the bearings out of it cranking the windage to and fro. There be alot of puzzled looks on the firing line todayHuh

Randy had 24, Dave Gamble had 23, Mark Scott and Toby Crisler had 20, Loyce Ellingrod had 19, a slug of us had 18, and Kurt had 17. that is as Far as I can remember.

Dave put on an excellent shoot for his first year at the helm. Everything ran like clockwork.

there is talk of changing it to a different format next year. 800, 900, 1000 and 1200. Input is needed.

personally I would vote to leave it the same.

RE: Mt 1000 yds
Bryan, your right of course and my memory is getting short and who do we input too? I didn't want to start a debate at an awards ceremony so kept quiet. I also believe it should stay the same. Other than your daughter and Savanna Hickey there were only 1 or 2 young shooters in the competition. Going to a target at 1200 is cool for guys like me that have a gun and sights that are capable of it, but it sure will play heck with those who are only equipped to shoot a 1000 yds max. , be it cartridge and load challenge or inadequate sights to get there. It is expensive, I don't care who you are and how much $$$ you have, young people will not and cannot engage in BPCR on their own financial ability it's simply beyond their resources to do so.Without guys like you and Brian Hickey footing the bill for your daughters they wouldn't be there. I don't do as many shoots as others on this forum, but the ones I do I've noticed a major lack of 20-35 year old people to carry on this sport. It's all about cost.No one has shot a 30/40 yet and if they want it tougher have them leave the grass full height 20' in frt of the firing line and factor out the prone shooters. LOL, I am gonna get in trouble yet. It's a good shoot and venue leave it alone. They do their monthly LR at 8,9,10 and 12 hundred and that ought to be enuf for the locals without changing the heart of the whole match.... bobw

RE: Mt 1000 yds
Changing the shoot there is a lot of pros and cons, the 800 and 900 would make the scores go up but the 1200 is very hard and many do not know how hard, that is why I asked for the shooters input. From what I have heard back it is about 50/50. I don't want the shooter not to have a good time. We will try to keep going foreward not backwards. I Would like to do something about the problem of shooters getting on the wrong target, maybe different shapes but at 1000 you don't see the shapes. any and all input from the shooters will help us make a better shoot. Al Lee told me if its not broke don't fix it. good advice. Thanks for the input and thanks for coming to our shoot. Dave

Thanks Dave I had a good time, that seems to happen everytime I journey north and west to Forsyth .You all know how to show visitors your hospitality. I don't have a problem with seeing the shape difference at a 1000 but you know changing targets 2 and 4 around sure would eliminate all my excuses for dismal performance on #4. bobw
