A medical PIC line is small tube inserted under skin to an artery. I my case a pic was inserted in upper right arm and threaded around and down to near my heart. That's sensitive and one is correct in consulting medical professional . Subsequent to that I've been placed on full blood Dialysis. We treat my blood for 3 1/2 hrs. 5 days a week. My wonderful wife and I went to 6 weeks intensive training to operate the Dialysis machinery in our home. Presently we access my blood stream via Catheter which is slightly larger two way tubes that is inserted into my right chest and tunnels up over the clavicle and down in near my heart. I too would like to continue life long hobby shooting. Particularly now with BPCR and long range silhouettes. The surgeons indicated a proceed with caution mode. But my concession is resting the 40-65 & 45-70 in the safe and centering on a 38-55 High Wall. With some load development hitting 500 yd. hanging Rams is quite Possible. I've also adopted to Left hand rifle shouldering. After 70 yrs as right hander this adds a bit of challenge. The main thing is if I cannot actually shoot matches remember Silhouette is basically a two person sport. I can still score, coach (were allowed) and spot for others. Kinda paying it forward for others. Makes either as shooter or spotter running a 10 shot string a great outing. matini2
First off a PIC line is inserted into a vein and not an artery. They are usually used for long term IV administration of antibiotics. I would advise you to wait out the three weeks, not jeopardize the PIC line, and I am sure your personal physician would advise the same. But you are free to shop around for the advice that you want to hear. - Michael Johnson, MD
