Brass
Seem that the only 44-77 brass to be found is the ones with the .087 thick rim. So since I have to fit the barrel it shouldn't be a problem to cut the rim as deep as I need it. Any thoughts?

That sounds too thick to me. Try going to Graf & Sons, they have loaded .44/77 ammo (smokeless load with lead bullet) in Jamison
brass. I bought 120 rounds of it just to have it...

RE: Brass
In todays market 3.15 for a loaded round and Jamison brass is a bargain. Some get a lot more for just the brass!
