Rolling block barrel
WTB 45 cal. bbl that will fit to my RB#1 bp. I want a shooter not a match rifle. I can't afford the new bbls I see online.
Thanks in advance.

If you already have the stuff to load the Spanish you could likely pick up another full length barrel at auction and leave it as is or have it bored to 45-70 if theres enough room. Otherwise keep an eye on the classifieds and auctions.

Sorry, Confused I should have posted this in Wanted.
If someone would delete it I would repost where it belongs

Hey Marine, You've got it in WANTED, must be the right place. About your .45 barrel, check the prices and options at Oregon Barrel company. A few of us here have gotten their barrels and they shoot rather well. At least take a good look. Shoot sharp, Mike

What do you guys think of Green Mtns. WL86-45 barrel? The price looks good to me. I'd be giving up a couple of inches in length but for the price I'm tempted.

RE: Rolling block barrel
Marine, That Green Mountain barrel for the '86 Winchester would do if you would be happy with the outside barrel contour. On the other hand, you'd be getting the barrel up to 35" long with the outside contour you waned from Oregon Rifle Barrel, probably for just about $25 more. A shooting pal just ordered a new .45 barrel to go on his rolling block. Now that is chambered for .45/90 and shooting very well. With a barrel from Oregon you get to pick the caliber, rate of twist, and groove depth in addition to length and taper rate. But then you still must have the barrel fitted to the action and chambered. Just to be sure you know. Shoot sharp, Mike
