RE: 1000 yd World Championship
Bruce... given my last two attempts at spotting for people ( or shooting for that matter ) ...you'd have more of a handicap if I'd come along to help anyway ! Big Grin

Make the journey and regale us with your stories, anecdotes and experiences in general

gavin,
if Colorado ended in tears, I believe there are now "dope delis" to help ease the pain.

" dope delis" ... Now that's a concern. If it tastes as bad as it smells...I may pass on that and stick with pastrami ! Now I'm getting used to shooting and no one seeing anything anyway...so maybe shooting without a spotter wouldn't be that big a transition ! Tongue

Thanks Dean . I do appreciate the tip Big Grin I just think my spotters are a little too fixated on the target and just need to 'broaden their horizons' ! Tongue Well..maybe I'll try using bullets next year and allow for the Northern vs Southern hemisphere, sight adjustment correction.. and I may hit a plate to two. Wink

I may be off base, but I'd think a world championship would involve those that placed well at a regional competing against others of the same at a national championship for the right to compete against the likes of different countries.

Well yeah maybe, but then again several of the shooters that will likely be there, have qualified for the US International team, and there are a number of them that have shot in foreign countries.. And by the same token there's likely to be a handful of entries from outside the US border..

Just curious Don since I've never been to one. Do they draw for shooting times. Seems the early morning shooters have the best conditions.

RE: 1000 yd World Championship
Brian if you read in the info flyer. There will be 2 relays per target, relay 1&2 will shoot and spot, 3&4 will keep score. Then when the first relay is done the second relay will shoot and the first will score. Yes the first relay might get better conditions, but the second relay could get better. It's just the breaks you get. They will do that cycle three times each day.
Don't know how they'll do it there, but often relay 1,2 on day one will be 3,4 on day two, but I don't know what they have planned for rotation on this one.

OK I didnt realize they had enough targets to accomodate 80 shooters that way.
