Cataract surgery next ...
Tuesday afternoon. How long before I can fire-off the ol' Shiloh again? My eye-Dr is not a shooter, so his input falls on his in-experience with recoil effects.
What say you?

RE: Cataract surgery next ...
I would give it a MINIMUM of a month to six weeks. Tissue that has been cut and healed may LOOK good, but is nowhere as strong as old tissue. Shoot a 22 after 2 or 3 weeks, but stay away from a 40 or 45 caliber Sharps for a while. Shoot straight, rdnck.

Agree with The Rdnck. You now have a new plastic lenses suspended by extremely fine plastic legs in place of the natural lense. Before I would subject that to the acceleration and deceleration of significant recoil I would do what he suggests and give it a minimum of a month to heal, preferably longer.

It's been done!
About 15 min. in the opreating-room. Very non-eventful job. Dr. says to stay away from recoil for about a month, prefurably longer. So, I can work on cases for awhile, as I bought 300 new Remington 45/70 cases and just general cleaning the loading-room.
The recovery begins,

Jim.
Just get your self one of those lead sleds and tie a string to the trigger and pretend it is a canon.
